Why I Don't Share Links To My Client's Listings Or Amazon Stores
I don’t share my client’s listings, marketplace stores or websites, on my social media.
Why?
Because it will hurt their conversion rate on that platform - fast.
Conversion rate is the amount of people who view your listing, versus those who actually purchase the product.
If you send cold traffic, that is not interested in purchasing your product, to your listing -
You are teaching the algorithm on that platform you have a product that customers DO NOT want to buy.
MY audience is not THEIR audience - they’re not here for that.
**Public Service Announcement**
This same rule applies to publicly sharing your Etsy/Faire/Amazon listing or store in a business FB group to “ask for feedback.”
This not-so-veiled attempt to drive traffic to your products negates all of your efforts to get that product to rank well. The same applies to your website and Google.
If you share your success in a group that is filled with fellow business owners who may not be experiencing your growth, they will immediately click through to see what sort of sorcery you have concocted.
It is human psychology. They can’t help themselves.
If you are in a course, program or community where a coach encourages you to do this publicly - run now because they do not understand how the algorithms on these platforms work…or worse, they do know, and they don’t care.
